| Distrito Industrial de Maracanaú |
Uma revolução na economia do Ceará. Assim pode-se dizer da criação do Distrito Industrial de Maracanaú, há pouco mais de 40 anos, dentro da política de desenvolvimento industrial implantada pelo então Governador Virgílio Távora. Hoje, é o mais importante Distrito Industrial do Estado, concentrando 1/3 da produção cearense no setor e o 2ª colocado no ranking de arrecadação do ICMS. Reúne cerca de 100 empresas de diversas áreas de atuação, como as têxteis, metalurgia e mecânica, papel e papelão, material elétrico, químico, de vestuário e calçados e serviços de construção. Geram mais de 15 mil empregos diretos.
A atual Administração do Município está realizando estudos para a execução de um projeto de revitalização do Distrito Industrial, incluindo desde ações ligadas ao meio ambiente, à infra-estrutura e à segurança. |
